Duke Energy mulls bid to operate Puerto Rico’s troubled electric grid

Duke Energy Corp. is one of four finalists that will be invited to submit bids for operating and possibly owning the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority in a proposed public-private partnership. The U.S. territory’s Public-Private Partnerships Authority is looking for an experienced utility to take on “management, operation, improvement, financing and maintenance of PREPA’s transmission and distribution system."
