Planned de novo bank in Monroe has a name — and it's a familiar one

The de novo community bank planned for Monroe now has a name — American Bank & Trust. In February, a group of 12 business leaders from Union County announced its plans to open a de novo bank in Monroe. De novo refers to a newly chartered bank formed from scratch.
