Handcrafted pizza chain expands Charlotte footprint, eyes additional sites — and dishes up free pizza

This made-to-order pizza chain will open its second Charlotte restaurant next week. Firenza Pizza says that location will open June 5 at 6925 University City Boulevard.  That location will give free pizza for a year to the first 10 people in line on June 8 and June 9. It also will give guests free pizza in exchange for a $2 donation to EmpowHERment or Safe Alliance from opening day through June 10.
