​CBJ Morning Buzz: Salisbury company plans layoffs; Vigil held in response to Charlottesville violence

In local news: Schneider Electric has notified the state of plans to lay off 64 workers this fall in what is labeled as a permanent closure on the latest WARN report from the N.C. Department of Commerce. Companies are required to submit Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification letters in certain workforce-reduction scenarios. In its letter, Schneider Electric says it will close its facility at 105 Summit Park Drive in Salisbury, with layoffs beginning around Oct. 26. No reason for the closure…
