Mac's Speed Shop expects to begin serving up barbecue in downtown Matthews this fall. Owners of the popular barbecue joint, which doubles as a biker bar, are renovating a 4,000 square-foot building at 142 E. John St., with a goal of serving diners its signature plates by mid-November, said David Jewell, a partner in Mac's. The new restaurant will accommodate about 150 customers.
