Layoffs continue at Charlotte-area Freightliner plants. Daimler Trucks North America is cutting 115 jobs from its Gastonia parts and logistics plant, effective next week. The cuts are the result of a decline in demand for DTNA’s mid-sized trucks. Sales of those vehicles, called Class 6-8 trucks, are expected to dip 15% from 2015, says David Giroux, spokesman for the company.
