Duke Energy Renewables brings its largest solar project on line in Texas

The largest solar project in Duke Energy Renewables' fleet has come on line in Texas. The 200-megawatt, alternating current Holstein Solar farm began commercial operation on June 1, spanning about 1,300 acres in Wingate — located in the west-central area of Texas. The farm, containing more than 709,000 solar panels, can power the equivalent of 40,000 homes, Duke Energy said in a news release. Duke Renewables acquired the project last year from 8minute Solar Energy for an undisclosed price.…
