NC legislators finally making progress on utilities commission nominees

The N.C. Utilities Commission should soon be back to full strength. The General Assembly approved all three of Roy Cooper’s nominees in floor votes Thursday after leaving the board shorthanded since June. Sen. Floyd McKissick (D-Durham) was approved by the Senate Thursday. His nomination to the seven-member commission was approved by the House in early July.
