Heartbeat of Uptown shifts south through public-private commitment to placemaking

Legend has it the phrase “Uptown Charlotte” has been around since the 1700s, when residents would climb the town’s subtle hills to trade goods at its burgeoning center of commerce – the corner of Trade and Tryon streets.
