NC regulatory board may finally get nominees approved after months of delay

It looks as though the severely truncated N.C. Utilities Commission will soon be back to full strength. The N.C. Senate’s Select Committee voted to send three nominations for the seven-member board to the floor for a final vote, which is likely to happen next week. In May, Gov. Roy Cooper nominated State Sen. Floyd McKissick, D-Durham, to the board along Kimberly Duffley, now a staff attorney for the commission, and Jeffrey Hughes, director of the Environmental Finance Center at the UNC School…
