NFL approves Carolina Panthers sale

ATLANTA — NFL owners welcomed a new member to their club on Tuesday afternoon, approving the sale of the Carolina Panthers to 60-year-old hedge fund billionaire David Tepper. The $2.275 billion transaction is the largest in league history and the first since the Buffalo Bills sold for $1.4 billion in 2014.
