
In local news: Bloomberg reported this morning that a European regulator has fined Bank of America Corp.'s Merrill Lynch roughly $45.5 million for failing to report two years’ worth of exchange-traded derivatives transactions. The fine imposed by the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority makes Charlotte-based BofA (NYSE: BAC) the first bank there to pay a penalty on that type of trades under the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation.
