Flowers Foods to close N.C. plant, lay off 169 employees

Thomasville, Ga.-based Flowers Foods Inc. notified the state of North Carolina Thursday that it plans to permanently shut down its Winston-Salem snack cake bakery facility at 315 Cassell Street on Oct. 8 and lay off 169 employees.
