N.C.'s July layoffs exceed recent years

Across the state of North Carolina, 712 job cuts were reported to commerce officials during the month of July. That’s more than double the 304 employees impacted by layoffs during the same time period of 2015. It's also notably more than the 511 employees given pink slips during the same month in 2014 and the 601 employees notified of cuts in July 2013.
