N.C. regulators likely to rule soon on Duke’s $4.9B Piedmont purchase

Chairman Ed Finley confirmed the possibility that his N.C. Utilities Commission could decide as early as late September whether to approve Duke Energy Corp.'s proposed $4.9 billion purchase of Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc.
