Heading into season, 'Canes have $18M of cap space to work with

Heading into the 2016-17 season, the Carolina Hurricanes have more than $18 million in salary cap space – the most of any team. The salary cap for this coming NHL season is projected to be $73 million, and the 'Canes currently have players under contract that count $56.7 million against the cap, according to data compiled by NHLNumbers.com.
