
The U.S. National Whitewater Center has voluntarily suspended its whitewater operations, effective immediately. The decision comes after the death of an Ohio teen from a brain-eating amoeba was linked to the Charlotte facility. The center issued a statement Friday saying it reached that decision after discussions with the Centers for Disease Control and local health officials.
