Harris Teeter ramps up hiring for new Charlotte stores

Harris Teeter will be hiring more than 200 workers as it prepares to open two new stores in the Charlotte market this fall. Plans call for a store at the Kendrick Crossing shopping center in Gastonia and one in Berewick development in southwest Charlotte. Both will be 53,000 square feet. The Matthews-based grocer, a subsidiary of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), says those stores will feature a pharmacy, Starbucks and the expresslane online shopping option.
