City airport tab tops $700K in CLT fight

The city of Charlotte spent $732,000 fighting state lawmakers for control of Charlotte Douglas International Airport between 2013 and late-2014, when a superior court judge decided any possible shift in governance would be left up to the Federal Aviation Administration.
