Publix Super Markets Inc. and key rival The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) are thriving in a tougher-than-ever grocery environment. Publix last week reported another record year in 2015, with revenue of more than $32 billion. Profits were up 13 percent over 2015, to $2 billion.
