Weak end to 2015 leaves Duke Energy earnings short of anlysts’ expectations

Duke Energy missed earnings expectations for the fourth quarter and the full year, and the company blames record-breaking mild winter weather. Duke (NYSE:DUK) says the company made $2.8 billion, or $4.05 per diluted share, for 2015 on revenue totaling $21.4 billion. Discounting one-time gains and losses, the Charlotte-based utility says its adjusted earnings totaled $4.54 per diluted share for the year.
