Publix Super Markets Inc. has more than doubled its donation to United Way of Central Carolinas this year. The Lakeland, Fla.-based grocer and its Publix Super Markets Charities pledged $512,058. That represents that largest year-over-year growth in the current United Way fundraising campaign, which seeks to raise $22 million. That effort ends on April 12.
